The regulator of the Premium Rate Service Industry is PhonepayPlus. PhonepayPlus have powers to impose heavy fines and close down services that are misleading or incorrectly promoted. As a responsible provider of premium rate, we are careful to ensure that all our readymade phone and SMS services are technically compliant with PhonepayPlus regulations (stating the cost of the call etc). The PhonepayPlus Code of Practice and supporting Guidelines are available, in PDF format, from the PhonepayPlus website. Please ensure you have read this information before beginning any promotion.- Promoting premium rate services
As a promoter of premium rate services, you will be required to comply with the PhonepayPlus Code of Practice when marketing your services. - Fines imposed by PhonepayPlus
You will be liable for any fines imposed as a result of incorrect promotion of your services. If you’re not sure about the terms and conditions that need to be advertised with your Ready Made Telecom numbers, we can advise on this. - Advert checking prior to publishing
Before sending any adverts to print, we will also require that you provide a copy to us for approval, to avoid any potential issues. We can then suggest ideas for improvement and point out any changes that are needed to ensure compliance with the Code of Practice.
